Get Ready For Artful Gelato: Amorino Near Opening on Newbury Street

The European sweets purveyor's flagship Boston shop is almost here.

With a signature flower-shaped scoop, Amorino's cups and cones of gelato are a beautiful sight, and according to Boston Magazine, the wait for the treats here in the Hub will soon be over. The shop at 429 Newbury St. will open next week, the Magazine reports.

As reported last fall, the Boston franchise will be Amorino's first U.S. locale outside of New York City, where there are two. The Paris-based chain also has 100-plus locations around Europe, Africa, and in French territories. Amorino has a Parisian aesthetic for its shops, with exposed stone walls and dark wood trim. Boston Magazine says the local shop will have seating for 19.

In addition to 23 flavors of gelato made with organic ingredients like Ecuadorian chocolate and Madagascan vanilla, the shop will also serve colorful French macarons, gelato cakes, waffles, crepes, hot drinks, and more.

When it opens, the hours will be 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily (later on Friday and Saturday nights). Keep an eye on the Boston shop's Facebook and Twitter profiles for up-to-date news.
