Back in December, Ran Duan (The Baldwin Bar at Sichuan Garden in Woburn) won the national title in the Bombay Sapphire & USBG Most Imaginative Bartender competition. Now he's at it again — last night, he emerged victorious in the fifth annual USBG National Legacy Cocktail Showcase, a competition sponsored by BACARDÍ. Boston's Naomi Levy (Eastern Standard) won last year and was part of this year's panel of judges.

Duan will head to Sydney, Australia in May to represent the United States at the BACARDÍ Global Legacy Cocktail Competition. His winning drink at last night's event was called "Father's Advice," incorporating BACARDÍ Gold, Punt e Mes, Cardamaro, Amontillado Sherry Lustau, and Creme de Banana Giffard.

"I recently had a baby boy and my father gave me some advice," Duan explained via a press release. "He said 'This is why I have worked so hard for the past 28 years. To love someone unconditionally, to provide and only want the best for them, to put their needs before yours is what a fatherhood is about. This is what family is about.'"

Duan was Eater Boston's Bartender of the Year for 2014.
