Afghani restaurant Ariana will indeed relocate, as recent reports suggested. Now, a sign on Ariana's door indicates that the original Allston location will close this Saturday, February 28, to begin the move to 384 Western Ave., just over a mile away. It'll be part of the under-construction Charlesview apartment complex. The new location will likely open in mid-March, according to a Facebook post from earlier this month.
"The object of our move is to be able to provide our customers with a better parking situation as well as a more pleasant dining environment," continues the post.
Afghani food is hard to find around the Boston area; aside from Ariana, there's just The Helmand in Cambridge. Ariana serves dishes like kaddo (pan-fried and baked pumpkin with yogurt sauce), mantu (beef-stuffed pastry shells), and more.
