Liquiteria Eyes Harvard Square Spot

The juice chain's first locale outside New York will be in Cambridge.

The juice wave is rolling fast into Boston, with several new squeezes opening or expanding so far this year (and last year). Last week, the area's newest juice bar was foreshadowed by a job listing, the first non-New York location of Liquiteria. Cambridge Day reported today that the company has dibs on a Harvard Square locale.

The juice chain went before Cambridge's Board of Zoning Appeal back in November, apparently looking to move into 1430 Massachusetts Ave., but the Day writes that the windows at 1440 Mass Ave. are papered in anticipation of Liquiteria. The storefront most recently housed The Body Shop.

An opening date remains elusive. When the time comes, Liquiteria will offer cold-pressed juices, quinoa and acai bowls, other breakfast treats, and salads, plus a rainbow of smoothies, including one called the "Green" Monster that is actually purple.
