MAGOUN SQUARE — Old Magoun's Saloon is celebrating the renowned food and beer — sorry, bier — culture of Belgium all month long with eight Belgian drafts. But tonight, as well as the on following two Wednesdays, enjoy a menu of special offerings inspired by the gastronomic nation. Fare goes beyond frites and waffles — Flemish beef stew, anyone? — but worry not, those delicacies are featured prominently, too. The specials are available each Wednesday in February from 5 p.m. - 11 p.m.
SOMERVILLE — This weekend, swing by Forge Baking Co. on Somerville Avenue for a pop-up shop celebrating Valentine's Day and love of artisan treats with Maggie Battista of Eat Boutique. Even V-Day haters would appreciate a gift like Lemon Bird cocktail cherries or Marshall’s Haute Sauce. Plus, Forge will create something from one of the guest products. The sale runs from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
SEAPORT DISTRICT — Hundreds of international wine producers will flock to the Seaport Hotel & World Trade Center this weekend for the annual Boston Wine Expo. In addition to more than 2,000 wines to try, the weekend event features dozens of seminars, including one on wine and food pairing, vendor booths, a restaurant showcase, and even "dueling celebrity chef stages." Get advance tickets here.
LEATHER DISTRICT — Local landmark South Street Diner pays homage to the Big Easy this Tuesday, February 17 with Fat Tuesday specials. In addition to all-you-can-eat jambalaya for just $5, the Mardi Gras menu will also offer beignets, gumbo shrimp, alligator sausage, and po’ boys. Ambiance add-ons include Zydeco music blasting from the jukebox and, of course, enough beads for everyone. The specials last from 11 a.m. - 11 p.m.
