Two new breweries are crashing onto the craft beer scene in Greater Boston: Castle Island Brewing Company in Norwood will open its doors on Friday as Gentile Brewing Company works to finalize construction projects and start tapping.

South of Boston, Castle Island (31 Astor Ave.) plans to focus on perfecting American-style craft beers, including a mix of signature and seasonal brews "that are original, fresh, and exceptionally delicious." The brewery announced it had passed its final inspection on Tuesday and will be open starting Friday at 3 p.m.

The Norwood craft brewery will launch with three beers and will have samples and cans of each available, along with brewery merchandise.

On the North Shore, Gentile Brewing Company (59 Park St., Unit 1) is making progress on its buildout, finalizing construction, and preparing to open the tasting room doors. Gentile is a family-owned and operated nano-brewery and is using its Facebook and Instagram pages to keep people updated on progress.

Big weekend at the brewery. A huge thanks to some talented childhood friends who hung three doors and helped with some other heavy lifting. Plumbers should wrap up this week too. Thanks for all of the support!
