It's the last day for Naga and Moksa, a connected nightclub and restaurant in Cambridge's Central Square (450 Massachusetts Ave.) They're being replaced by a new venue, as Boston Restaurant Talk predicted recently. The new venue will be called Monroe (stylized as MONROE), the team announced today, and its opening is planned for January 16, after some remodeling.

Youssef Boujena, who comes from Morocco and has worked locally at Sel de la Terre, OM, and other restaurants, will be executive chef at Monroe, where he'll be serving upscale American comfort food, according to today's press release. The release also promises "plush lounge space" and a "funky, cool, and sophisticated" nightclub, complete with a "sprawling" dance floor.

Solmon and Rokeya Chowdhury (Shanti, Naga, Dudley Cafe) are behind Monroe, along with Brig Dauber (The Estate, The Roxy, Royale, Naga). The Chowdhurys are also planning to open their third Shanti location in January in Kendall Square.
