Booming development in the Seaport District may lead to the ousting of two popular waterfront restaurants, according to The Boston Globe. A 22-story complex was proposed for the site where Whiskey Priest and Atlantic Beer Garden currently stand.
The Globe reported that a developer, Jon Cronin, filed with the Boston Redevelopment Authority to build a 250-foot-tall residential tower at 50 Seaport Blvd. The developer's Cronin Group (which is also behind those two restaurants) awaits approval for the structure, and could start construction in 2017 with a planned opening for 2019.
The first level appears to be zoned for restaurant and retail space, according to Boston Restaurant Talk.
