A third location of a hip diner known for its tasty toast and quirky decor could open in the next two weeks in Back Bay. The Friendly Toast, which has two locations in Portsmouth, New Hampshire and Cambridge's Kendall Square, recently underwent hiring for employees and is now in the midst of renovating its space at 35 Stanhope St, right by the Back Bay MBTA station.
A representative for the restaurant said that depending on how renovations go, it could open either next week or the first week in January.
The Friendly Toast first opened in Portsmouth more than 20 years ago and is most noted for its huge selection of breakfast items. The restaurant makes its own bread and serves thick-cut pieces alongside egg scrambles. On the lunch and dinner menus, there are salads, soups, burgers, sandwiches, and other entrees, plus beer, wine, and cocktails.
For its Back Bay restaurant, The Friendly Toast put out a call for "vintage, funky, eclectic" items to complete its interior decorations. Photos of the working interior popped up on Facebook last Friday.
Alright stop, and check out this renovation, the toast is here with a brand new location! BACK BAY, BABY! (keep your eyes peeled for an official opening date!) #BackBay #Boston
