In June 2014, New York's The Halal Guys announced a deal with franchise consulting firm Fransmart (which is also behind the expansion of Qdoba and Five Guys), indicating that plans for 100 restaurant openings over the course of five years would include locations "radiating from Boston and Chicago into the suburbs."
That local expansion is now beginning. Today, the company announced that a six-unit franchise deal has been signed for Boston, a fraction of the 200-plus units in development in D.C., Philadelphia, Atlanta, and beyond, both nationally and internationally.
The company was founded in 1990 and features fast-casual Halal food, particularly chicken, gyro, and falafel platters and sandwiches.
