An Irish pub in Downtown Boston has closed. Barney Fanning's Boston Irish Pub (99 Broad St.) announced on Facebook that the restaurant was sold and its new owners would rename the space.

A notice on the restaurant's website read: "Barney Fanning's has served its last Patron on Dec 10 2015. We want to thank everyone who has supported us throughout the years. We were fortunate to have our loyal followers and customers! This site will be deleted shortly."

Eater previously reported that The Times Irish Pub & Restaurant would take over the Barney Fanning's space after getting ousted from its own location due to luxury condo development. The Times' Facebook page confirmed that its owners have purchased the space:

It's official, we are now the proud owners of Barney Fannings Stop in and say hi.

The Times previously occupied the space caddy-corner from Barney Fanning's, so will just have to move across the street to reach its new location.
