Next door to My Thai Vegan Cafe and Pho Pasteur, a new restaurant is looking to find its place in the Chinatown neighborhood. Cuong's Vegan Take-Out has applied for a common victualler license to operate at 5 Beach St., according to a City of Boston licensing board page.
The restaurant appears to be named after the person behind it, Cuong Tran, who incorporated his business as CVT Vegetarian Gourmet Inc. in 1993. He was behind Buddha's Delight in Chinatown and Buddha's Delight Too! in Brookline. Both restaurants have since closed, with My Thai Vegan Cafe taking over in the Buddha's Delight space on Beach Street.
My Thai Vegan Cafe also appears to be tied to Tran. Before its move to Chinatown, it operated at 404 Harvard St., in the previous Buddha's Delight Too! location, which is currently Brothers Restaurant.
Cuong's Vegan Take-Out is expected to operate out of the first floor space, with room for a kitchen in the rear.
Eater has reached out to My Thai Vegan Cafe for comment. Updates will be provided when they are available.
