Harvard Square is down a restaurant after Yenching closed suddenly Sunday, according to Boston Restaurant Talk.
The restaurant taped a note in the window that read: "It has been a great pleasure serving you. Thank you not only for your patronage but also your friendship," the Harvard Crimson reported. Employees at Yenching did not offer comment to the Crimson and the reason behind the closure is unknown.
The Szechuan-style restaurant had operated at 1326 Massachusetts Ave. for nearly 40 years, serving Chinese-American meals like dumplings, kung pao dishes, fried wontons, and moo shi.
