It's that time of year again: Lunch time at dinner-only restaurants.
In Beacon Hill, No. 9 Park is continuing its annual tradition of offering holiday lunch now through December 23, taking place every weekday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. It's a multi-course extravaganza with a three-course prix fixe menu for $52 or a five-course tasting menu for $75. (At dinner, a three-course prix fixe will run you $76.)
Lunch options include foie terrine with house granola, duck confit, and quince; onion soup with braised oxtail, parmigiano crouton, and gruyere; a raspberry baked Alaska with cocoa nib, vanilla, and grissini; and more.
Call (617) 742-9991 for reservations, or book through the Reserve app. If you do the latter, enter the code NO9LUNCH to receive a pair of ice skating passes for the nearby Frog Pond.
Meanwhile, brand new Yvonne's is getting in on the holiday lunch fun this year as well. On December 4, 10, 11, 17, 18, and 24, there will be four seatings available (12 p.m., 12:30 p.m., 1 p.m., and 1:30 p.m.) for a historically inspired lunch that recalls Yvonne's longtime predecessor in the space, Locke-Ober. Hors d'oeuvres range from $6 (a single oyster Rockefeller) to $24 (steak tartare), while main courses are meant to feed two to four people and range from $110 to $149.
Look for classic dishes like baked lobster Savannah, chateaubriand "Rossini," a roasted rack of lamb, and more. Like No. 9 Park, Yvonne's also offers a baked Alaska for dessert.
Reservations are required and only taken by email — send a message to info@yvonnesboston.com and wait for confirmation.
