Cambridge's Voltage Coffee & Art will come under new ownership to become Barismo, according to Boston Restaurant Talk. Barismo has applied for a common victualler license for 295 Third St.
Barismo, an Arlington coffee roaster and retailer that is also behind Dwelltime (364 Broadway, Cambridge), will take over Voltage and rebrand it along with Dwelltime, according to BetaBoston. Voltage's founder, Lucy Valena, will reportedly stay on to work for Barismo as an "artist in residence," meaning she will train employees, help with design, and oversee other aspects of the store.
Voltage has been open for five years, "fueling good conversation and synergy in the tradition of the original coffeehouses," according to its website. The new proposed hours for the shop are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week.
