Construction is now underway at Lamplighter Brewing Company (284 Broadway), according to a post on the brewery's Facebook page. After more than a year of working through zoning and planning stages, as previously reported, Lamplighter has officially kicked off renovations.
Lamplighter has big plans for the space, "starting with lots of demo and re-building, and concluding with delicious beer," the brewery wrote. With an opening goal set for spring 2016, the brewery is tracking progress with a checklist on its website.
The co-founders pushed to open the brewery in the area because they "love Cambridge, and the beer drinking scene here is fantastic," they wrote in a blog post. They signed a lease for the space back in March, and during renovations, the team will work on developing its beers.
"We'll have a sneak preview blog post about our flagship brews in a few weeks, and even more info after that on can art and taproom fun," co-founder Cayla Marvil wrote in an October update. She also said the brewery hopes to collaborate with Fazenda Coffee Roasters in Dedham by working their roasts into beers and having cold brew tea and coffee on tap.
