Fenway will soon have a dash of Scottish flare: Copperfield's is closed and Tilted Kilt is moving into the neighborhood.
The decades-old bar posted on Facebook about the closure, according to Boston Restaurant Talk, saying: "Thanks to all the customers, musicians, cover bands/original bands/promoters/agents/ sound companies, and staff who made it happen, please continue to support the bars in the fenway area and local live music everywhere."
Tilted Kilt, a Scottish-themed restaurant known for its Hooters-esque, kilt-wearing waitstaff made an early attempt to open in Quincy, but later moved on to secure a location in Fenway. It is also opening a location in Billerica.
The restaurant, which has its roots in Las Vegas, received approval to open at 98 Brookline Ave. from the Boston licensing board, according to Universal Hub, and is currently hiring a general manager, per a post on Craigslist. Though the post does not mention the restaurant by name, it refers to Tilted Kilt's known tagline: "The Best Looking Sports Pub You've Ever Seen" and describes it as a "Celtic-Themed Sports Pub staffed with beautiful servers and a whimsical menu."
Classic pub fare dominates the menu at Tilted Kilt, including fish and chips, "big arse burgers," shepherd's pie, and "olde Dublin Irish stew."
