Miam Miam Macaronerie first appeared in spring 2014, accepting macaron orders while planning for the opening of a South Boston storefront. The shop took a little longer than expected, as these things go, but since launching the business, owners Jen Turner and Nicole Raukohl have been running things online and cooking out of Commonwealth Kitchen in Dorchester — baking plenty of macarons, making deliveries, and popping up at events around town, showing off flavors like poached pear, local honey and lemon, salted caramel, and lots more.

Now, the duo is finally getting its first storefront. Miam Miam Macaronerie's shop debuts on November 21 at 10 a.m. inside of the Juice Box (briefly called The Daily Squeeze when it first opened) at 359 West Broadway in Southie. They may open a second non-shared location in the future, but with the current arrangement, Turner and Raukohl will continue baking out of Commonwealth Kitchen.

Both women live in South Boston and love the neighborhood. "It kind of reminds me of Brooklyn in that it's a part of the city, but it's a neighborhood," Raukohl said previously. "People are really friendly, people know your name...I know all my neighbors. And it's right on the water — beautiful."

"And a lot of the stores are family-owned small businesses," Turner added. "It's nice to have all that around you. The people are really loyal."

On a day-to-day basis, there will be twelve flavors available in the store, plus a seasonal specialty, and the duo will continue to accept a wide range of custom orders for packs of macarons as well as towers and "cakes" made of macarons. (Pick the color, flavor, and/or design, and they'll make it.)

Miam Miam Macaronerie will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, but it'll also hold special hours beginning at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 25 to fill Thanksgiving orders.
