A popular pho restaurant in Chinatown is making moves to open an outpost in Quincy, according to Boston Magazine. Sau Cai, whose family owns Pho Pasteur (682 Washington St.), is scheduled to appear before the Quincy licensing board at 4 p.m. today to make a request for a common victualler license.
The proposed second location for Pho Pasteur is 1412 Hancock St., near the Quincy Center MBTA stop. The restaurant has specialized in Vietnamese cuisine since it set up shop in 1991, serving a variety of pho in addition to rice dishes, bún, seafood and meat entrees, and vegetarian meals.
Pho Pasteur's website indicates the new location could open sometime this winter and promises updates as the opening approaches.
