A new development complex in Waltham will be home to the latest project from the Somerville-based Alpine Restaurant Group (Posto, The Painted Burro, Rosebud American Kitchen & Bar) some time in November, sticking to a timeline first announced over the summer. Osteria Posto (10 CityPoint) will serve lunch and dinner with a take on Italian steakhouse dining.
Chef and owner Joe Cassinelli will work with Osteria Posto's executive chef Robert Fathman, previously executive chef of Les Zygomates and its sister restaurant Bel Ari, to develop modern spins on traditional Italian dishes for seasonal menus. A simple lunch menu targeted at local and corporate guests will include salads, shareable appetizers, homemade pastas, and sandwiches. Expanded dinner options include small bites, plus more pastas, hearty entrees, and a variety of meat and seafood choices. Neapolitan pizza is also an anticipated menu item, as previously reported.
Osteria Posto will also have a central bar with a wide selection of wine, craft beer, and cocktails.
"There is a growing trend of people that are looking for the quality and atmosphere of Boston-style restaurants, without having to trek into the city," Cassinelli said in a release.
The restaurant itself, which comes in at 7,000 square feet, will accommodate large crowds. Along with 300 seats for dining and a 22-seat bar, Osteria Posto will have patio dining and an audio/visual equipped private function area for special events. The space at CityPoint is LEED certified.
