Salem's 62 Restaurant & Wine Bar closed October 3, and a new Italian spot has just emerged in the restaurant space at Pickering Wharf, according to Boston Restaurant Talk. A Mano Italian Kitchen and Pizzeria is a rebranding by 62's owner, Tony Bettencourt.
62 Restaurant & Wine Bar first opened in 2008. Bettencourt's new venture transforms the space into "a more comfortable and approachable Italian restaurant," retaining similar menu items, but going for a less formal setting.
Photos posted to Facebook showed interior work at the restaurant to cover up the remnants of 62. The transformation was quick, as a post on A Mano's Facebook page indicates that the new restaurant opened on Saturday.
