Providence kicks off its winter Restaurant Weeks this Sunday, January 11, running through January 24. Since Providence will be a balmy 32 degrees Fahrenheit compared to Boston's 30 degrees, it's the perfect time to head south, right?
Unlike the latest multi-tiered incarnation of Boston's Restaurant Week (now called Dine Out Boston), the Providence event simply offers three-course lunches for $14.95 and three-course dinners for either $29.95 or $34.95. (In comparison, Dine Out Boston's lunch prices begin at $15 and go up to $25, while dinners range from $28 to $38.) But some restaurants are actually offering a two-for-the-price-of-one special; see all the details on the official list of 78 participating restaurants.
Over on Chowhound, some Providence diners are sharing their picks for best Restaurant Weeks bets, including Chez Pascal, Gracie's, Parkside Rotisserie & Bar, and Dewolf Tavern. A mid-2013 post on GoLocalProv also recommended Parkside, as well as Hemenway's, XO Cafe, and more.
