Here's a 1917 photograph from the Library of Congress archives, showing 14-year-old waitress Delia Kane working at the Exchange Luncheon at 99 C Street in South Boston. It was taken by Lewis Wickes Hine, who worked as an investigative photographer for the National Child Labor Committee between 1908 and 1924, documenting the living and working conditions of children.
