Third Time's the Charm for The Ginger Man?

Looks like the Houston-based tavern chain could open in Boston after all.

The Ginger Man, a small chain of comfort-food-and-beer-filled taverns based in Texas, might finally be coming to Boston after all. In 2012, it was looking at a Fort Point space, but neighborhood opposition got in the way. Then, a year ago, another Fort Point space was on the table, but there have been no updates on that front in quite some time.

Now, it may be moving into the former Stadium Sports Bar & Grill space at 148 State Street (near Faneuil Hall), reports Boston Restaurant Talk, citing information from an agenda for a licensing commission hearing. Again, The Ginger Man is seeking a 2 A.M. closing time, a vital factor in the equation last time around. Stadium closed this location as well as one in South Boston earlier this month but remains open in Quincy.
