When warm weather hits, a magical thing happens at Formaggio Kitchen's Cambridge location on Saturdays: the sidewalk barbecue. Last year, the popular series started up in late April, so we still have a substantial amount of winter to get through before it returns full-force.
But from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 31, Formaggio grill master Teddy Applebaum will be back on that sidewalk for a chilly pre-Super Bowl edition of the barbecue, offering dishes like pulled pork and pulled chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, St. Louis-style ribs, baked beans, apple fennel slaw, and a whole roasted pig.
You can also place pre-orders until January 30 at 5 p.m. (for small groups) and January 27 at 5 p.m. (for groups of six or more) to pick up those items and more at the shop on Saturday or Sunday, but you'll have to wait outside if you want a bite of that roasted pig.
