Tatte Bakery & Cafe has a fifth location in the works, as reported back in July, and now it's set to open late next month, according to a Craigslist job posting seeking applicants for front-of-house positions. The growing chain has one location in Brookline and three in the Kendall Square area. The new outpost, the first in Boston proper, will be in the former Cafe Vanille space in Beacon Hill (70 Charles Street).
Tatte serves breakfast and lunch, coffee and other beverages, and a variety of baked goods.
According to Tatte's website, the Beacon Hill location will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays, and 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays.
Owner Tzurit Or founded Tatte back in 2007, first selling items at farmers' markets before quickly opening up the Brookline brick-and-mortar and later expanding to Cambridge. The self-trained pastry chef, previously a film producer, hails from Israel, and hints of her homeland show up on Tatte's menus in the form of shakshuka, mezze plates, and other items.
