The Coda Group — the team behind The Salty Pig, Coda, and Canary Square — apparently has something new brewing at 569-579 Columbus Avenue in the South End, according to the agenda for a licensing hearing. South End Partners, Inc. is behind the new venture, and the group includes Jim Cochener, Michael Moxley, Michael Lombardi, and Kevin O'Connell, according to paperwork filed with the state. Cochener and Moxley own the Coda Group, and Lombardi is chef de cuisine of The Salty Pig. The Salty Pig's executive chef is Kevin O'Donnell; it's unclear whether he's the same person cited in the paperwork, just with a typo.
The licensing agenda only reveals that the unnamed restaurant will have 90 seats, there will be a bar area (with no separation from the dining area) that fits about 16, and there will be two patios: a courtyard for 40 and a sidewalk patio for 20. Both would close by 11 p.m. The group is seeking a full liquor license for the venture. Stay tuned for more, and hit up the tipline with any intel.
