Hale and Hearty, a chain with more than 30 locations around New York, opens the doors to its first Boston location next Wednesday, January 21, reports Boston Restaurant Talk. That first day, the restaurant will offer a limited range of soups from noon to 2 p.m. — for free. The official opening, complete with full menu and regular hours, will be the following day. Hale and Hearty also offers salads, sandwiches, and a few desserts.
The chain opened its first location almost 20 years ago. Six of the most popular soups are available daily at every location (tomato basil with rice, three lentil chili, and more), while the rest of the selection changes every day depending on the season, location, etc.
Boston's first Hale and Hearty will be located at 185 Franklin Street.
