Longtime Brighton Center restaurant Jasmine Bistro, which serves a mix of Hungarian, Middle Eastern, and French cuisines, is closing to make way for Umai, a sushi restaurant, according to the agenda for a licensing board hearing. Umai has an existing location on Newbury Street in Back Bay. It's unclear at this point whether it'll be a move or an expansion for Umai and whether Jasmine Bistro has actually already closed. A Yelp review from late August notes that it was inexplicably closed during normal business hours.
