A restaurant called Boston Indian Kitchen is taking over the former India Samraat space, as reported in June, and now it looks like it's getting closer to opening. A tipster says that the signage is up — and they're also in the process of putting up a wooden facade in front of the old exposed brick.

Boston Indian Kitchen is under the same ownership as Rang Indian Bistro in Stoneham, Passage to India in Cambridge's Porter Square (the restaurant describes itself as the longest-running Indian bistro in all of Cambridge), and Monsoon Indian Bistro in Acton. The three offer large menus covering a good deal of Indian cuisine, including some dosa and tandoori dishes, biryani, tons of naan options, and more. Stay tuned for an opening date. (And fans of the shuttered India Samraat can still eat at its sister restaurant, Curry House, which is located in Brookline's Coolidge Corner.)
