Bread and Salt Debuts at Wink & Nod

Bread and Salt Hospitality is now officially in place at Wink & Nod, with Josh Lewin as executive chef and Kate Holowchik as sous chef. The team debuted their special Monday night menu, "A South End Night Market," last night in conjunction with the bar's weekly Tiki Night. On it, diners will find a variety of Asian night market-inspired snacks, larger plates, soups, and salads. (Editor's pick: Try the pani puri with truffled potato, lime, and tamarind. The crispy outer shell gives way to a smooth bite of perfect pureed potatoes, brought together with a tart bit of tamarind sauce.)

Tonight, regular service begins with the menu that's available every night other than Monday; check it out over on Boston Magazine, from cured Mangalitsa pork to cauliflower four ways. Tasting menus are also available (choose five, seven, or nine courses.) Here's an earlier interview with Lewin discussing the concept, the potential lifespan of this long-term residency, and more.
