The Kendall Square Tommy Doyle's closed suddenly last week, and the large space, which is located right in the middle of a lively area, may already have a couple takers — and familiar ones, at that.
Multiple tipsters, including one with a reliable track record on info of this sort, have already written in to suggest that Andy Husbands and Brian Lesser are considering the space. Husbands, owner of Tremont 647 and Sister Sorel in the South End, did mention the possibility of a new restaurant early last year, noting that it would "take some time." Reached today, Husbands said, "I'm certainly looking to do something, but nothing is confirmed." He declined to comment on Lesser's reported involvement or a possible concept.
Lesser is involved with a lot of local spots, including Sweet Cheeks, Storyville, Alden & Harlow, and Tavern Road. Hit up the tipline with any intel.
