Tommy Doyle's, an Irish pub that opened more than a decade ago in Kendall Square, closed suddenly late last week, with the staff only finding out earlier that day. A chalkboard outside the restaurant bid patrons goodbye and said to "blame the owner."
The Harvard Square location closed back in December, at which point the owners said that they were seeking "new locations and opportunities" around Boston, Cambridge, and Somerville. A location remains open in Newton, but it's under different ownership than the now-shuttered Cambridge spots.
