Shabu & Mein, newly opened in East Cambridge, is the subject of a "Cheap Eats" review by Ellen Bhang for the Globe. If you order hot pot, it features a "fragrant stock" that takes almost three days to make. That same broth also figures into the miso ramen, which is made with "thin and delicate" noodles and "two thick slices of pork loin, deliciously edged with fat...with a medium-soft egg, marinated in sweet soy and sake."
