SOUTH END — Top Chef alum Kristen Kish will be onboard the Mei Mei Street Kitchen truck this Sunday, August 31 at SoWa, serving up a scallion pancake sandwich with fried tofu, kimchi, Japanese mayonnaise, crushed peanuts, and fresh greens. A portion of proceeds from the sandwich will go to Holt International, which helps find homes for orphaned children. She's also busy working on a cookbook and pursuing a restaurant possibility. [BM]
HARVARD SQUARE — The Pasta Flyer is coming. The gluten-free pasta pop-up comes from Mark Ladner, executive chef at Del Posto in Manhattan. While his eventual goal is to open restaurants in numerous cities (Boston's on the short list), he's doing a pop-up tour at campuses this fall. Find Pasta Flyer on Harvard's campus, by the Science Center, from September 22-24 between 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. (He'll also be lecturing at 7 p.m. on the 22nd as part of Harvard's public Science & Cooking lecture series.) Pasta Flyer will also serve lunch on the Wellesley campus on September 19 and 20, from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. [Official Site]
