Viale, the upcoming replacement for Rendezvous in Central Square, could open in early October, reports Boston Restaurant Talk, citing a job posting on BostonChefs.com, which gives a few more details about the restaurant.
For one thing, Patrick Gaggiano (an alum of Trina's, Parlor Sports, Fairsted Kitchen, and beyond) will be running the cocktail program. According to the job posting, it will feature "a selection of outstanding original and classic cocktails and a focused, handpicked spirit selection." Also, there will be craft beer, coffee, tea, and a wine program focused on small, organic producers from all over the world.
As for the food, expect "a strong Italian influence" with "flavors from across the Mediterranean and New England, with local ingredients being in the spotlight." Green Street alums Greg Reeves and Mark Young are behind the project, with Reeves as chef and Young as front-of-house manager. Reeves has also worked in places like UpStairs on the Square and B&G Oysters, while Young has worked at Spoke Wine Bar.
