Lone Star Cambridge to Open This Year; Presse at Sonsie

In today's Eaterwire, news on Lone Star Taco Bar, Earls Kitchen + Bar, and Sonsie.

EAST CAMBRIDGE — The glorious expansion of Lone Star Taco Bar to the former Lizzy's space is expected to happen by the end of the year. "It'll have Lone Star's core menu mashed up with [sister restaurant] Deep Ellum's bar program," co-owner Max Toste tells Boston Magazine. "On top of that, it's going to have some special standalone features that will be unique to the space." [BM]

SOMERVILLE — One of the next Assembly Row restaurant openings will be Earls Kitchen + Bar, a Canadian chain, on September 12. Keep an eye on the bar program, helmed by an alum of Daniel Boulud's empire, Cameron Bogue. The menu jumps around from burgers and steaks to dishes inspired by cuisines all over the world, from "crispy Thai shrimp" to "Mediterranean calamari" and beyond. [BM]

BACK BAY — Sonsie, a swanky Newbury Street classic, is "revitalizing [its] espresso bar and café experience" so much that it's getting its own name, Presse at Sonsie. It'll launch in three weeks. [FB]
