Food Trucks on Thursday Nights; Sugar Rush at Harvest

SOUTH END — Last Thursday, Food Truck Festivals of New England launched a weekly event in Franklin Square, a South End park on Washington Street between East Newton and East Brookline. From 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. every Thursday evening through the fall, eight trucks will gather, including Uyghur Kitchen, Frozen Hoagies, and The Taco Truck. Admission to the event, dubbed Boston StrEATS, is free; just buy some food and relax in the park. [Press Release]

HARVARD SQUARE — On Wednesday, August 27 and Wednesday, September 3, Harvest pastry chef Brian Mercury is unleashing the second annual "Sugar Rush" event on the world — five courses of dessert. The first night features Mercury, Jared Bacheller of L'Espalier, Molly Rabideau of Oleana, Kelcey Rusch of Bergamot, and Jessica Scott of Brown Butter Bakery, while on the second night, Mercury will be joined by Giselle Miller of Liquid Art House, Molly Hanson of Grill 23 & Post 390, Jaime Davis of Deuxave, and Monica Glass of Clio & Uni. Each event begins at 7:30 p.m. and costs $65 (add $25 for wine pairings.) Call Harvest at 617.868.2255 to reserve a space.

NORTH CAMBRIDGE — Could shuttered Sri Lankan restaurant Biryani Park, formerly in Malden, be reborn in Cambridge? It looks like it might be headed for the former Curry N Wok space on Massachusetts Avenue. [BRT via CH]
