More doughnuts are coming to Boston, courtesy of The Gallows. An establishment called Blackbird Doughnuts just popped up on Instagram and Twitter (1, 2) with the tagline "Late fall. South End. A Gallows production."

In fact, there have been lots of doughnut-related hints on The Gallows' social media accounts in recent weeks. Just yesterday, there was a collage of doughnuts-in-the-making (sour cream old-fashioned with fresh lemon glaze) with the caption "due diligence. #donutlife #homework." Earlier in the summer, there was a doughnut crawl through Chicago. (At the conclusion: "On our way back from #donutnation. Good things to come.") There has been some local "R&D" as well. And take a moment to ogle these past creations at The Gallows: exhibit A, exhibit B, exhibit C.

Doughnuts already make appearances on The Gallows' brunch menu in the form of the "donut breakfast sandwich," which includes a Sriracha doughnut bun, orange coriander breakfast sausage, caramelized onions, American cheese, and a sunny egg. There are also frequent donut specials, like this red currant glazed donut or this braided doughnut with chocolate and honey glaze. But when late fall comes, there will be a dedicated space to fulfill your doughnut needs. Stay tuned for more details.
