Welcome to Eater Scenes, a series where Eater photographers visit restaurants around town at a certain, and very specific, point in the day. For this special The Five Days of Meat edition, Chris Coe heads out to East Somerville to visit the recently-opened La Brasa at dinnertime on a Friday in late June.
Meat is the star here, from barbecued beef brisket with a charred green tomatillo sauce to a lamb shank pozole with a red chili broth. The prime rib cart is roving the dining room, cocktails aplenty are being mixed, and the evening summer sun is still streaming through the plentiful windows, illuminating the wood-filled space. Venture inside.
