Wait a Little Bit Longer for American Fresh Taproom

Assembly Row's beer garden by Somerville Brewing Company is not quite ready yet.

American Fresh Taproom, the Somerville Brewing Company beer garden coming to Assembly Row, was previously slated to softly open tomorrow, but you'll have to wait a little bit longer to drink beer amidst repurposed shipping containers. Those containers, coming from Boxman Studios of North Carolina, won't be able to start their journey up north until August 8, arriving in Somerville on the 11th. At that point, kitchen equipment will need to be loaded in and city approval will need to be granted. "We are cautiously optimistic about opening later in August," write Caitlin Jewell and Jeff Leiter, co-founders of Somerville Brewing Company, on their website.

The 60-seat beer garden will be open seasonally, offering sandwiches, charcuterie plates, and other snacks meant to pair well with beer. It's expected to stay open through late October this year, and a heated tent will come into play during the colder weeks.
