Raw August; Shojo Block Party

NEWTON — Starting tomorrow, 51 Lincoln is embarking on "Raw August," their "annual celebration of proteins and produce in their purest forms." A special raw dish will be available each night of the month, spanning from scallop crudo to beet carpaccio and lots more. [Press Release]

CHINATOWN — This Sunday, August 3, from noon to 5 p.m., Shojo is celebrating its second birthday with a block party at Chinatown Gate on the Greenway. There'll be DJs, martial arts demonstrations, live mural painting, and other activities, plus a Hawaiian luau-themed pig roast picnic, free (while supplies last) to those who show that they follow Shojo on social media. SOMERVILLE — Aeronaut Brewing Company has expanded its hours a little bit, now open from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday. And on each of those days, there is a food truck. Tonight, it's Taco Party. [FB]
