It's awards season, folks. The 2014 "Best of Boston" issue of Boston Magazine is hot off the presses, and restaurants and bars around town are celebrating their wins. There are 67 categories in the "Restaurants & Food" section, ranging from cuisines (French, Indian, etc.) to food items (cookie, lobster, roll, etc.) and more. Saus took home the "best fries" award for the third year in a row, for example, while The Kirkland Tap & Trotter snagged "best burger" in a city increasingly overrun with burgers, many quite good. Alden & Harlow was deemed "best new restaurant," an honor bestowed upon Asta last year, which went on to be named "best restaurant, general excellence" this year.
The editorial staff gained a total of 37 pounds, paid for one mediocre OkCupid date, and created seven fake identities in the researching of this year's list, according to a letter from editor Carly Carioli. Here's the full list of this year's group of winners.
