Tatte Bakery & Cafe, which has a trio of locations around Kendall Square as well as another in Brookline, is expanding again. The fifth location of the growing local chain will be the first in Boston proper, taking over the Cafe Vanille space in Beacon Hill. (The 15-year-old Cafe Vanille will live on at its other locations in Chestnut Hill and Duxbury.)
The new Tatte will potentially seat 36 inside and 16 on an enclosed patio, operating from 7 a.m. to 7 or 8 p.m. daily, owner Tzurit Or tells Beacon Hill Times. Pending licensing and construction, Or is hoping to open in late August or early September. The existing Tatte locations offer an array of baked goods as well as salads, sandwiches, and soups.
