A new restaurant called Basil Rice has opened in the former Pita Pit space in Brookline (479 Harvard Street), reports Boston Restaurant Talk. The restaurant serves "Asian street food," according to its website, although the menu appears to be a pretty standard set of Thai- and Chinese-American dishes (think pad thai, drunken noodles, and chicken teriyaki). Basil Rice is open from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
