It's not even a soft opening, per se, so don't get too excited yet, but Causeway passed its final inspection today and just needs to get the doors open already because it's been a very long process, and they can't wait to see your hungry faces. Starting around 6 p.m. tonight, they'll offer four or five "ball park" types of items. Go in, have a beer or three, and take a peek at the space. The real menu, including all of the barbecue, will start trickling out in pieces in the coming weeks.
Just to be clear: no barbecue tonight. Just beer and some casual items that won't appear on the real menu. Executive chef Ruben Garza can't wait to get the smoker fired up, but you'll have to hang tight for a few more days. Additionally, the second floor (with a second bar) will open in a month or so, and a roof deck will appear further in the future — probably next year. Here's a preview of the upcoming menu, although some things will change before it launches.
