CHARLESTOWN — Pier 6 is so excited about the addition of full-service dining on its previously drinks-only deck that it's getting its own name, The Deck @ Pier 6. The 40-seat outdoor space will have a more casual menu than the rest of the restaurant, offering sandwiches, a raw bar, lobster and clam bakes, and the like, starting this Friday, July 18. It'll be open 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and noon to 10 p.m. on weekends. [Press Release]
BEACON HILL — Eat a whole lot of corn at Bread and Salt Hospitality's corn supper this Sunday, July 20, taking place at the Sloane Merrill Gallery. The event includes a "procession of appetizers" (saffron corn soup with pickled shrimp, for example), tacos and tamales, ears of corn, and a "corn surprise" for dessert. $55 per person. [Eventbrite]
WALTHAM — Red Bird is now open at 361 Moody Street, serving "seasonal New American." Chef Daniel Stokes is an alum of Franklin Cafe, while beverage director Geoffrey Arvanitis comes by way of Stephanie's on Newbury and Bistro du Midi. [BG]
