ALLSTON — The Hong Kong Supermarket in Allston is down one food stall — One of the Kind, but another will replace it, Boston Restaurant Talk reports, citing a poster on Chowhound. The replacement, Chilipa, will open on August 1, serving spicy bowls of meat, seafood, and veggies. [BRT/CH/Official Site]
CENTRAL SQUARE — Due to the threat of rain tomorrow, Taste of Cambridge has been moved to this Thursday, July 17. Tickets begin at $50 and include samples from a giant list of Cambridge restaurants and other purveyors. [CD]
EAST SOMERVILLE — The next installment of Samuel Monsour and Mark O'Leary's The Future of Junk Food takes place at La Brasa on Monday, August 4, at 6 p.m., and the guest chef roster includes La Brasa's own Daniel Bojorquez as well as West Bridge's Matthew Gaudet, Tavern Road's Louis DiBiccari, returning Boston chef Tony Susi (formerly of Sage), and Area Four's Michael Leviton and Jeff Pond. They'll be creating their own versions of breakfast junk food, from Denny's Grand Slam to BK French Toast Sticks. Tickets are $85 and include drink pairings. [Eventbrite]
