Zimmern Dinner; Last ExNE Explores Dinner

INMAN SQUARE — East by Northeast explores eastern China, particularly Shanghai, for the final installment of its "ExNE Explores" dinner series tomorrow, June 5. The five-course menu is available for $45/person and includes dishes like a smoked pork soup dumpling (with jonah crab, ginger, and black vinegar) and red braised swordfish belly (with Shanghai-style vegetable rice and pickled mustard green relish). NEWMARKET DISTRICT — A power quartet of James Beard chefs, including Andrew Zimmern of Bizarre Foods, is throwing a pop-up charity dinner hosted by Lovin' Spoonfuls on June 10 at the New England Center for Arts & Technology. Jamie Bissonnette, Matthew Jennings, and Joanne Chang are also participating. Tickets for the dinner and a cocktail party beforehand are $295 (or $75 just for the cocktail party, which features snacks from Louis DiBiccari (Tavern Road), Josh Smith (Moody's Delicatessen), and Michael Scelfo (Alden & Harlow).
