Au Revoir to Rendezvous

Rendezvous served its last meal earlier this week. Chef/owner Steve Johnson is looking forward to "more sunshine, fresh air and salt water" as he spends more time at his second home in Westport and opens a new restaurant in Tiverton, Rhode Island.

Rendezvous became a Central Square staple over its nine-year span, and the space will be taken over by two owners who have also spent ample time in the neighborhood — Greg Reeves and Mark Young, both alums of the nearby Green Street. Reeves and Young will open a new restaurant called Viale in Rendezvous' place, serving "Italian food with Mediterranean nuances." It could open in late summer or early fall.
